Ladio age 63, finds that living in the projects can rain on his one-man parade when the elevators aren't working.

I started in Puerto Rico, when I was about 10 or 12 yrs old.

I would see all the kids around where I lived, riding their fancy bicycles, and I wanted to be one of them, too. There were 8 or 9 kids, and I became one of the group. It was in St Lorenzo, a barrio in Puerto Rico.

People stare and ask how I attach all the equipment, they want to know how I did it.

The bicycle I have now is only 3 months old. I had another one for 3 yrs before this one. I'm always working on 2 bicycles at the same time.

I work on it 3 or 4 days a week, and take it out 2 or 3 times a week. I live in the projects, and sometimes the elevators don't work, so sometimes I can't take it out at all.
