Franky age 63, is the president of the Puerto Rico Schwinn Club on the Lower East Side. He takes his bicycle's flag display seriously.

I came here from Puerto Rico in ‘67, and I started with the bicycles when I was 28. Well, I really started in Puerto Rico, when I was 10 years old. I put bells and flags on my bicycle. We had a little group of 18 kids, in the barrio.

Now, in Puerto Rico, there’s a group of 40 men and women in the club. Mostly men, but some women.

When I go riding around, I play with the horns and play the music on the radio console. I’m planning to put more lights on it, to light it up more. And I’m going to put 12 flags, and split them up, 6 Puerto Rican flags and 6 American flags, ‘cause we’re not in Puerto Rico.

I’ve had this bicycle for 25 years. I’ll take things off and put things on it. I used to have a second one, but I sold it.
