Oh-Kee Kim, age 55, lives in Quebec,
and graduated from Jeon Ju University in South Korea. She's also
a member of the Association of American Portrait Painters, and
travels around the U.S. to conferences.
In
Korea, I studied oil painting, sketch, portrait, nude, and costume.
It was very traditional, very classic.
In 1994 I went to Paris, and won a bronze, in Artists Francais.
I entered a large oil painting of a wall in Korea, with carvings
on it. A tradition wall.
I came here, for the first time in March, and the second time
in June. I think it's very interesting to paint people from
all different places. In Canada, in Ottawa, in Montreal, in
Quebec. Now I live in Canada, sometimes I want to come back
here and paint portraits, in New York
Since 2003 I've gone to Portrait conferences in Philadelphia,
and Chattanooga, and Nashville. I'm a member of the Association
of American Portrait Painters.
When I'm here in NY, I stay in my friend's apartment in the
Bronx. And I come here to paint 7 days a week.
I charge all different prices, diffeent days I charge different
amounts. Sometimes more, sometimes less. And it's good practice,
also! |
